What is on in Bali in November 2026?

Mostly ceremonies and regional festivals. The joint ministerial decree on 2026 holidays lists no public holiday in November, and the Bali government's events calendar for 2026, as ANTARA reported on 13 January 2026, names only regional festivals and traditions for the month: the Pemuteran Bay Festival, the Makepung Lampit and Jembrana Cup buffalo races, the Ulun Danu Festival, the Jembrana Jegog Festival, the Sanur Village Festival and the Goa Lawah Festival. The Ubud Writers & Readers Festival is not one of them. It ran from 21 to 25 October 2026, and the next one is on 20-24 October 2027; our Bali events calendar for 2027 lists it with the other dates.

Dates are the uncertain part. Several festivals had no date in the official list, two moved or are listed with different dates by different sources, and the Ministry of Tourism's event directory adds the Taman Ayun Barong Festival, which the Bali calendar had placed in September. The table below gives each date, where it comes from and how firm it is. Treat every date marked as not confirmed as a plan, not a promise, and check with the organiser a week before you travel. The month after this one is covered in what's on in Bali in December 2026.

What is Tumpek Landep, and what will you see on 14 November?

Tumpek Landep comes every 210 days on a Saturday. The last one was on 18 April 2026 and the one after this is on 12 June 2027. Bali Post describes it as a day when Hindus pray and hold ceremonies for objects made by people and used in daily life, from kitchen knives to vehicles. The head of the Bali Culture Office said in April 2026 that the custom has long been tied to weapons and now covers vehicles, and that landep means a sharp, clear mind.

In practice the ceremonies are local and private. In April 2026 the Denpasar fire brigade held one for its 16 trucks, and the provincial government planned a joint prayer at the Pura Luhur Andakasa temple in Karangasem. As a visitor you may notice offerings on motorbikes and cars and slower roads near temples. Ten days earlier, on 4 November, Pagerwesi is a quieter holy day of prayers at family shrines and meditation, according to the Balinese calendar. Neither day stops our tours.

Is the rainy season starting in Bali in November 2026?

Yes, and it started with warnings. On 2 November 2026 the BBMKG Region III office in Denpasar issued an early warning for heavy to very heavy rain on 2-4 November. For 2-3 November the higher alert level applied to Buleleng, Jembrana and Tabanan and the lower level to Badung, Bangli, Gianyar and Karangasem; for 3-4 November the lower level applied to Badung, Buleleng, Jembrana and Tabanan. BBMKG also warned of strong winds in several regencies and of waves of 2 m or more in the southern Lombok and Bali straits, the Badung Strait and the sea south of Bali, according to ANTARA.

The longer outlook is the same. On 28 October ANTARA reported that BMKG's Bali climatology station expects the rainy season to be established across Bali from November 2026, to peak in February 2027 and to last until April 2027. Our Bali in November guide has the long-run rain figures; this page is about what the first weeks look like.

The first heavy rain also brought a serious incident. On the night of 1 November about 121 mm of rain fell in one day in Pelaga village, Badung, and a landslide hit a glamping site beside the Tukad Yeh Kilap river. ANTARA reported on 2 November that 21 of the 23 guests were safe and two people, one of them a foreigner, were still being searched for. This is not a reason to cancel a trip, but it is a reason to choose lodging away from river banks and steep slopes in the hills of Badung, Bangli and Tabanan, and to read the daily BBMKG warning before a drive into the hills.

Who is on the island in November 2026?

Fewer people than in summer, and more of them from Australia, China and India. BPS Bali said on 2 November 2026 that foreign arrivals were 650,169 in September 2026, 5.22% fewer than in August, and that July, August and September were each above the same month of 2025. By passport the top five in September were Australia (165,100), China (54,284), India (41,645), Japan (30,322) and France (28,405). From January to September 2026 Bali received 5,237,128 foreign visitors, 1.15% fewer than a year earlier.

Three groups shape November. Indian visitors: the main day of Diwali is Sunday 8 November, and India was the third-largest source market in September. Australians: Year 12 school leavers take week-long 'schoolies' holidays after their final exams in late November and early December, and Bali is one of the international destinations on the Schoolies list, according to Wikipedia; the summer school holidays start between 11 and 19 December, state by state, according to Tourism Australia. Indonesians: there has been no public holiday since 25 August, and the next days off are 24 and 25 December, so domestic travel is quiet.

Do ceremonies close temples and attractions?

Sometimes, for a few days, and mainly for large temple ceremonies rather than monthly holy days. In December 2025 the Goa Lawah temple in Klungkung held a Padudusan Agung, a major purification ceremony. Organisers asked travel agents and visitors to postpone visits from 9 to 16 December and closed the main inner area, with visitors allowed to watch only from outside, according to Bali Post. We cannot know which temple will hold a big ceremony in November, so our drivers reorder the stops when a gate is closed. If a specific temple is the point of your day, ask us to check it first.

Which tours work around November's events and rain?

Inland days are the reliable core. The Ubud route is 10 hours from $65 per car plus $22 per person in tickets. Rafting on the Ayung is from $25, and you finish wet in any weather. Our rainy-season guide explains what runs and what we move.

For the Makepung races or a festival in the west or north, the practical choice is a private car with a driver from $59 per car, because these events have no public timetable and the venue can change. Check the date and place a few days ahead. Keep boat trips flexible on 2-4 November, when BBMKG warned of waves of 2 m or more south of Bali.
