The cheapest verified seat on the Ayung at IDR 250,000 for a 10 km run, with shower and towel included. The catch is the road: transfer is quoted separately and starts at IDR 500,000, twice the price of the rafting itself. Good value if you already have a car or a driver for the day, and the most expensive boat on the river if you have to buy the transfer with it.

IDR 680,000 puts Surya Bintang between the budget boats and the branded operators on the same stretch of the Ayung: close to three times the IDR 250,000 floor and a little over half of Sobek's IDR 1,200,000 list price. Useful mainly as a yardstick — when a quote you have been given sits far outside that middle, the difference is coming from the package, not from the river.

Graha Adventure
Graha publishes no rate anywhere on its site. Every quote runs through WhatsApp, priced against your date, group composition, transport and hotel area — the same four variables both price guides name as the things that move a rafting rate. The consequence is practical: Graha cannot be placed on the IDR 250,000-1,200,000 scale before you write to them, and afterwards there is no published number to hold anyone to.
The four prices for the same seat
Sobek publishes one price list and it is identical on both rivers: IDR 1,200,000 for a foreign adult, IDR 800,000 for a child aged 7 to 15, and IDR 600,000 for domestic guests with a KTP. The same three numbers cover the Ayung and Telaga Waja, which already tells you what kind of number it is. The two rivers are different lengths, different drives and different logistics, and a figure that does not move between them is a list price rather than a costing of the trip.
Open the booking section of the same balisobek.com and the numbers change. The Ayung is IDR 990,000 if you drive yourself and IDR 1,200,000 with transfer; Telaga Waja is IDR 900,000 self-drive and IDR 1,200,000 with transfer. The gap between two sections of one website is IDR 210,000. Nobody is being dishonest — the list price bundles the shuttle and the booking engine unbundles it — but if you compare a quote against the list without checking which page the list came from, you are comparing two different products.
Then there is the partner channel. Wira Tour (raftingbali.net, prices held to 31 December 2026) sells the same Sobek departure on the Ayung at IDR 440,000 per adult for a group of two to five and IDR 425,000 at six to ten, with a child grid running alongside the adult one. With the shuttle the adult seat becomes IDR 618,000. That 440,000 is 37% of the 1,200,000 list: the agent seat costs 2.7 times less than the operator's own headline for the same boat, the same guide and the same river. One caveat worth stating plainly. Sobek does not itself describe IDR 1,200,000 as a rack rate, and a different agent, water-sport-bali.com, calls Sobek's published price IDR 600,000. So the word published is doing marketing work rather than accounting work: it is an anchor a seller chooses, not a defined term you can audit. Treat any discount expressed as a percentage off a published price as unverifiable until the seller shows you which page that price came from.
The market corridor, and why two guides disagree
Two price guides, both current, describe the same market and do not agree. raftingbali.net, checked on 20 August 2026, gives the Ayung at IDR 250,000-770,000 for adults and IDR 250,000-585,000 for children, Telaga Waja at IDR 270,000-495,000, and Melangit from IDR 300,000 booked online. ubudcenter.com, under the heading Price Guide 2026, puts the Ayung at IDR 450,000-550,000 and Telaga Waja at IDR 450,000-600,000 — a corridor roughly a fifth as wide, with a floor nearly twice as high.
Neither site explains the other's numbers, and neither is obviously wrong. Both name the same four things as what moves a price: which operator runs the boat, what the package includes, which area you are collected from, and the date. Neither publishes the sample behind its range. The effect on you is arithmetic rather than advice: a quote of IDR 600,000 sits comfortably inside raftingbali's corridor and above ubudcenter's ceiling, so the guide you happened to open decides whether the number you were given looks normal or high. One thing the corridor does settle. Melangit has a reputation as the budget river and the numbers do not support it: at IDR 300,000 its online entry price is the highest floor of the three, above Telaga Waja's IDR 270,000 and the Ayung's IDR 250,000. Melangit's advantages are the short drive from Ubud — 21 km, about 50 minutes — and the walk to the water: 5 minutes from the parking, no long staircase. Saving money is not one of them. If price is your only filter, the cheap seats are on the Ayung, where a crowd of operators competes over the same stretch of water.
What operators actually charge, side by side
Mason Adventures quotes IDR 795,000 on its own booking site for a five-hour trip, with departures at 09:00-14:00 and 12:00-17:00 and a group size of one to ten. Through an agent the same adult seat is IDR 770,000, and third-party marketplaces list it between IDR 585,000 and 695,000 — below Mason's own page in every case we found. The operator's own channel being the most expensive one is not an anomaly here; on the Ayung it is the pattern.
Arum Jeram Bali is the floor of the Ayung market at IDR 250,000 for a 10 km run, and it is also the clearest illustration of how rafting here is really priced. Transfer is not included and starts at IDR 500,000, so the road costs twice what the river does. That single line rearranges the whole comparison: a 250,000 boat plus transfer lands above Surya Bintang's all-in IDR 680,000 and close to Mason's IDR 795,000, which includes a shared round-trip transfer. On the Melangit, baliraftingadventure publishes its 2026 tariff in dollars rather than rupiah, so it cannot be compared with anything above without converting it first. The extras nobody quotes
Hardware is the first line item that turns up after the quote. A rented GoPro is delivered for IDR 50,000 to the airport, Kuta, Legian and Seminyak and IDR 80,000 to Nusa Dua, Canggu and Ubud, free to Renon and Sanur; we could confirm the delivery charges but not what the rental itself costs, so budget for a number we cannot give you. One guest review of an ATV-plus-rafting combo mentions a drone package at around SGD 80 for the whole group. That is a single reported figure from a review rather than a tariff, and it is worth treating as such.
One charge has nothing to do with rafting and lands on the same budget anyway. The Bali tourist levy is IDR 150,000 per person, collected on arrival to the island rather than by the operator, so it will never appear on a rafting invoice and still has to be paid before you get anywhere near a raft.
Then there is the arithmetic of plus-plus. A rate quoted plus-plus carries 10% service charge and 11% tax, and they are applied in sequence rather than summed: the true uplift is 22.1%, not 21%. On a single IDR 795,000 ticket the difference between the two sums is small change; across a family booking with transfers it is not, and a bill you worked out by adding the two percentages comes up short at the desk. Of the operator and agent pages we checked, only Bali Golden Tour states the compounding explicitly.
What the extra money actually buys
Every Ayung operator we checked provides a shower and a towel at the finish, and that includes the IDR 250,000 boat at the bottom of the market. The useful reading is the reverse of the one you are meant to take: when a more expensive package lists a shower and a towel among its inclusions, it is listing something the cheapest trip on the river also hands you, and none of the extra money is going there.
What the extra money does buy is visible once you line the packages up. Between IDR 250,000 and IDR 795,000 the things that actually change are the transfer — separate and from IDR 500,000 at Arum Jeram, shared and included at Mason — the lunch, the group size, which Mason caps at ten, the five-hour fixed slot, and the brand on the boat. Those five items are the whole difference between the floor of the market and a branded operator on the same water.
Graha Adventure publishes no rate at all. Everything runs through WhatsApp, priced against your date, group, transport and hotel area. The consequence is that you cannot compare Graha with anyone else without messaging first, and there is no online figure to hold them to once you do.
