Nusa Penida and the sea days from Seminyak
The best long day from this base. Every fast boat to Nusa Penida leaves from Sanur, and from Seminyak that drive is 30-50 minutes, against 60-90 from Canggu or Uluwatu and 45-70 from Ubud. The crossing is another 30-45 minutes. On the island it is a private car and driver: the west loop from $49 per car, the east and full-day routes from $75, and the manta trip from $29 per person.
Closer water is on the east coast. Blue Lagoon at Padang Bai is 90-120 minutes from Seminyak, and the snorkelling trip leaves at 09:00 from $19 per person, with the transfer from the south quoted separately. Ubud, Mount Batur and the west
Ubud is 60-90 minutes away, and the Ubud route makes the drive worth it by running a full 10 hours: craft villages, temples, a Kintamani lunch, Tegalalang and Monkey Forest from $65 per car. Mount Batur is the early one: 1.5-2.5 hours each way and a pickup around 01:30, with the jeep at $60 with pickup the format that lets you sleep both drives.
For the sunset, Tanah Lot is the right temple from Seminyak, about 60-90 minutes away, while Uluwatu means 90 minutes to 2 hours across the airport corridor at rush hour. What we would not book from Seminyak
Uluwatu as a quick sunset. Crossing the airport corridor after 15:00 is the slowest drive in the south, so from Seminyak the cliffs are their own afternoon with a car and driver from $59 per car, not an add-on to another day. The Tanah Lot sunset is the easy one from here.
And a tour on the morning of an early flight. The airport is 12-15 km away, 20-30 minutes off-peak and 45-75 at rush hour; book the airport transfer and keep the last morning free. The airport to Seminyak guide has the options.
